PlayMakers' "Macbeth"

  • Jordan-Matthews Media Center 910 E. Cardinal Street Siler City, NC 27344 United States (map)

PlayMakers Repertory Company rolls into Siler City once again for a FREE performance of Shakespeare's "Macbeth"! It's part of PlayMakers' Mobile Shakespeare tour, some truly innovative performances that make Shakespeare's plays available, enjoyable and accessible to all — just as the playwright intended. The event — including free coffee and cookies at 3:30 p.m. before the performance at 4 p.m. — is open to students, faculty and the entire Chatham community.

Before the play begins, PlayMakers actors will lead a performance workshop for JM actors, beginning by noting the parts each will be playing in the Mobile Shakespeare production before moving on stage for some opening exercises combining personal introductions, motion and sound. Then, they will break into small groups, reading scenes from "Macbeth," diving deep into characters and doing additional physical work.
