About 40 JM artists travel to Chapel Hill to experience the PlayMakers Repertory Company production of Ragtime, a Broadway show that received 13 Tony Award nominations in 1998 and was billed by the Chicago Tribune as “one of the great musicals of the 20th century!”
Diverse rhythms of the turn of the 20th century weave together three intersecting narratives that capture the rich complexity of the American experiment — past, present and future. Cultures clash, people change and hope shines in the darkness.
The special matinee performance for students is followed by a group discussion with the cast and artistic staff. This opportunity is provided free of charge to JM students thanks to a generous, special gift by a JMArts member.
