Our second-annual musical competition features instrumental and vocal acts with a $50 prize awarded for the best performance in each of three age-based competitions — elementary, middle school and high school. Acts may be individuals or groups up to four people, with all performers being full-time students in a North Carolina public, private or home school. Auditions are required, and each act selected for the showcase competition must pay a $10 registration fee. Winners are selected by audience vote.
General admission for the Sing and Play Showcase Competition is $5 per person and includes one vote in each category. All proceeds will be used by JMArts to help our student artists excel and to reduce the cost to students traveling this spring on JM's second-annual New York Arts Adventure.
Performing are Hanna Mikolajec, Destiny Lyna Lowery, Brianna Balderas, Zoe Murphy, Jack and Jillian Dixon, and Adrian Willett in the elementary competition; Zuzanna Mikolajec, Marcella Willett, Cameron Parker, Ian McMillan, Buck and Maggie Thornton, and Carolyn England in the middle school competition; and Amari Yarborough, Jackie Vasquez, Faith Tysor, Jennifer Trejo Benitez, Courtney Shackelford, and Duan Bowen in the high school competition.
Snow date for the Sing and Play ’19 showcase is Tuesday, February 26.
